Skating on the Edge Gala Information Page

Gala is a one day event hosted by our club where our skaters Precan and Canskate skaters come together for a mini-very fun day of skating. The purpose of our Gala is to provide skaters with the opportunity to showcase their skills in a fun and interactive environment. In support of Skate Canada’s ongoing implementation of the Long-Term Athlete Development Model, this event has been formatted to recognize the philosophies of the Learn to Skate stage.

The focus of the event is on individual skill improvement and therefore performances are not ranked. All skaters receive prizes and medals and get to experience being up on a podium! Awards are given every hour in the upstairs lobby. 

This is not a mandatory event and there are registration costs. We strongly encourage you register your child as they will have an awesome day at the event.

This event is a major fundraiser for our club and requires a fair amount of workers. Many hands make light work, we will be having a planning meeting  at the arena….everyone is welcome. Date for the meeting is to be determined.

*you may be required to work a shift at this event even if your child is not registered.
